It is managed by a volunteer board of workers\u2019 compensation professionals from the areas of law, insurance, vocational rehabilitation, and state government. Every dollar that Kids\u2019 Chance of Vermont raises goes directly to funding scholarships. All administrative costs are absorbed by individual board members and their businesses<\/p>\n<p>What has Kids\u2019 Chance of Vermont Achieved? Since its formation in 2014, Kids\u2019 Chance of Vermont has awarded three annual scholarships:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>2017-2018: $12,000 to Andrea Tester of Orwell to attend Castleton University and major in education. Andrea\u2019s dream of becoming a middle school English teacher was placed in jeopardy when her father suffered a severe work-related back injury that left him unable to work for four years.<\/li>\n<li>2016-2017: $9,000 to Ashlyn Evans of Groton to attend Michael\u2019s School of Hair Design, a Paul Mitchell Partner School in Bedford, NH. Ashlyn plans to open her own beauty salon. Her mother was injured while working as an LNA and was not able to go back to her job.<\/li>\n<li>2015-2016: $10,000 to Lyndsey Cox of Rutland to attend Sage College in Albany, NY, and obtain a degree in physical therapy. Lyndsey aims to use her degree to work with children.
